Zoo Lights Miami

On select nights Zoo Miami opens after dark for Zoo Lights: more than a million lights, a 26-foot LED holiday tree, appearances by Santa through Dec. 23, character meet-and-greets, the Grinch, letters to Santa, themed photo spots, music and an animal presentation at the Sami Family Amphitheater. The nights are Nov. 27–28 and Dec. 4–5, 11–12, 18–23 and 26–30, 6:30–10 p.m.; opening night, Friday, Nov. 27, has a tree lighting at 7 p.m. with carolers. Tickets are sold online only, separately from daytime admission and memberships (members get a discount code), and early-bird prices end Nov. 26; the new train ride, s'mores and gift shop cost extra. Most animals are asleep, though the flamingos, the tiger and a few others may be out.
