Parent to Parent

Parent to Parent of Miami’s Community Parent Resource Center provides peer support and advocacy to families of people with disabilities. Early Steps

Early Steps provides early intervention services to children ages 0-3 born with a disability or developmental delay. These include  Family Support/Training, Health/Nutritional/Vision/Translator Services, Occupational/Physical/Speech/Vision Therapy, Service Coordination, and Third Party Referrals. Evaluation is free, and services are covered by insurance or Part C funds. Once your child is deemed eligible you will receive the Individualized Family Support Plan with authorized services/guidance on what to do next.

Performing Arts


Area Stage Company

ASC’s Inclusion Theatre Project (ITP) is a theatre training program for students with developmental disabilities. It inspires its participants through multi-modal, multi-sensory classes within the musical theatre medium and assists them by building social-emotional intelligence, cognition, motor skills, and confidence. The program currently serves 360+ students across Miami-Dade and works with local schools to provide on-site training as well.

Sensory Inclusive Performances

These performances are intended to create a welcoming and supportive environment for children and adults on the autism spectrum as well as individuals with other sensitivity issues or developmental disabilities. To create a sensory-Inclusive setting, slight adjustments have been made to the production, including reduced sound levels, no flashing or strobe lights, and minimal special effects. An area adjacent to the theater has been designated as a Quiet Room with specially trained volunteers to provide audience support.
